i debated on making something like this bc it is triggering but since so many in this fandom still think mary wasn’t raped, and this is something i feel VERY STRONGLY about i decided to do this. i know it still won’t settle the debate (ffs it shouldn’t even be a debate) for some very closeminded people but i hope it’ll help some to understand that mary was raped. she was raped. she did not give her consent willingly. when she was asked cora if she was forced, she said no because she was not forced in the way she understood force to be. she wasn’t PHYSICALLY forced but she was emotionally blackmailed, threatened into giving pamuk what he wanted. HE WOULD NOT HAVE LEFT THE ROOM WILLINGLY IF SHE DID NOT GIVE HIM WHAT HE WANTED. SHE WOULD BE FOUND WITH A MAN IN HER ROOM WITH NO EXPLANATIONS TO HOW HE ENDED UP THERE. mary was raped and it is my hope that this is eventually accepted as a fact and will no longer be debated in the future.

Downton Abbey Christmas special 2012 - new plot details revealed

Downton Abbey Christmas special 2012 - new plot details revealed The festive episode promises drama, romance and new faces - “Best have the tissues ready” says ITV’s Director of Drama…

Downton Abbey fans will be pleased to learn that this year’s Christmas special, to be screened by ITV at 9pm on Christmas Day, will be a feature-length two-hour affair.

Those hoping for carols around the Downton piano will be disappointed though. In contrast to last year’s snow-flake filled special, this year’s Christmas episode will see the Downton clan heading to the Highlands of Scotland for their summer holiday. And the Crawleys - along with Bates, Anna, Molesley and O’Brien - will be swapping Downton for the even grander Duneagle Castle.

Their annual trip to Scotland is apparently the highlight of Robert’s year - so we can expect him to be in higher spirits than he was in series three.  But there is sure to be drama as Duneagle Castle is home to feisty Lady Rose (remember the flapper dress-wearing, jazz dancing cousin who appeared in the last episode of series three.  You know, the one who briefly had an affair with a married man before being sent away in disgrace.)

Romance might be on the cards, too. The episode will see Lady Edith bump into her newspaper editor Michael Gregson… who just happens to be holidaying nearby - and this will cause conflict between Matthew and Mary who disagree about the married journalist’s motives.

MODERN DOWNTON AU → It’s Christmas Day and Matthew and Mary have their friends and family over. With Matthew in charge of making sure all mugs and glasses remain filled, the guests find themselves more occupied with getting the rules of charades right than with playing the actual game. Meanwhile Cora and Mary prepare dinner in the kitchen and Granny turns up fashionably late.
